Published in the January edition of Staf Magazine, click here to see the magazine page. Thank you to Carmen for this translation.
See a 10 years old boy
skating better than a older boy is very cool.
With all of you, Mike Puehse, Tristan and Nic Puehse
father, the skateboarding twins.
How did they find out about skateboarding?
In December 2003, when city's skatepark opened. Tristan and Nic asked us
to take them there.
When did you realize that they had been born to
skateboard?
I'd say it was 6 months before that I started to notice
certain natural skills and talent inside those little
bodies.
Are you able to spend all of your time with the
twins?
Almost. I'm lucky to run my own business, which allows
me to have flexible working hours.
What did you know about that sport when they
started?
Nothing at all. When I was 12, I had a skateboard but I
didn't use it much.
How long do they skate a day?
When they started, they skated for 4 or 5 hours. Now,
they skate 12 hours a week.
And are their lives normal? I know that they've
got sponsors...
Their sponsors are very understanding. They want Tristan
and Nic to use their material when they skate. Tristan
and Nic aren't under pressure and they skate whenever
they want.
What do they want to be when they are older?
They want to be professional skaters.
